How A Teeth Whitening Visit Works

Visit
Your teeth whitening session will last approximately 1 hour.
The process is relatively simple! We’ll apply the gel to your teeth, plug in the GLO device, and run through a few cycles.
In the meantime, you can catch up on a Spotify podcast with our Bose Headphones, or watch another episode The Office on Netflix.

Post-Care
You may experience some mild sensitivity shortly after your visit. It will feel like a tickling sensation around your teeth. This is totally normal, and varies patient by patient. With GLO, this sensitivity is kept to a minimum.
For the next 2 days, your teeth will be especially vulnerable to staining. You’ll need to avoid colorful foods and drinks, such as coffee, wine, or berries. Don’t worry - once the 2 days pass, you can return back to your normal routine.

At-Home Treatment
During your visit, you’ll have the option to purchase a GLO at-home cleaning kit as well. This will allow you to extend the results of your in-office whitening and continue brief sessions at your own pace.
Dr. Kuznetsov will provide you specific instructions on how to use the at-home kit.

Teeth whitening is a non-invasive and fast treatment offered by our dentists. There’s two ways to whiten your teeth using GLO technology:
Professionally - at our office with the supervision of Dr. Kuznetsov
At Home - using kits Dr. Kuznetsov will provide after your visit
At our office, the GLO technology uses heat and LED light to accelerate the hydrogen peroxide whitening gel which is applied to your teeth. The light and gel combination targets the enamel and eliminates stains. Overall, you will have long-lasting results in under an hour.

Unfortunately, teeth whitening isn’t permanent! Your whitening results can last months or even years, depending on your level of care. To optimize the results, you need to ensure proper dental hygiene (brushing, flossing, & regular visits to the dentist). In addition, you’d want to limit your consumption of coffee, soda, wine, or any other staining food/drinks. While that last part may be a tough ask, it does help extend the lifespan of those white teeth!

While testing various professional whitening services, we’ve identified GLO as the best option for our patients. We’ve noticed it causes the least amount of sensitivity during & shortly after treatments.

Some staining is much harder to remove than others. For example, stains from smoking are usually the hardest to remove. Dr. Kuznetsov will consult with you to see if additional procedures are needed to get you to your desired shade!

Unfortunately, things like crowns, veneers, and fillings won’t whiten. Only your natural pearls!
